Happy Valentines Day, Eagles! Staff, please check your mailboxes for something special today.

In honor and recognition of Black History Month, here is the fact of the day:
Henrietta Lacks was an African-American woman whose cancer cells have been instrumental in the medical research field, aiding in the development of the polio vaccine and cancer research.

Come out and join the Black Student Union in the North Quad at lunch today to celebrate Black History month and play musical chairs.

DO NOT MISS the Varsity Girls Basketball 2nd round of CIF playoff game TOMORROW here at ESHS at 7pm. The first 50 students to come to the game will get a free El Segundo basketball t-shirt. Let’s fill the student section w/ Ruthless Rooters and support our Lady Eagles!

Be sure to not miss the LGBTQ club selling Valentine’s Day Candygrams for $2. Go to the North quad at snack or lunch -- today’s the last day!This is your last minute opportunity to buy a sweet treat for your friends or a special someone.

Need community service hours? Come to Dockweiler Beach TOMORROW from 8am-10am and help us keep our beach beautiful. All are welcome! Contact Ms. Cvejic for any questions.

Ready to compete? Create a team of 3 or 4. Stop by E102 to register. See flyer on the door. Come to the test day coming soon. Topics? Financial literacy and economics. Flex your scholarly muscles before the Scholar Quiz competition.

Grab those jeans you set aside and bring them to your period 4 teacher. “Teens for Jeans” donates used jeans to youth in homeless shelters. Any size, slightly used would be greatly appreciated! Teacher,s if you want them picked up ASAP, email Ms. Maye. Otherwise, we will collect jeans on Friday, February 21st. Thanks for your help!

Seniors: Today is the last day to submit a senior ad. Find the link to purchase in the latest “news” section on the high school website.

CSF Enrollment forms and money are due on Monday, during snack, lunch, and after school, drop them off with Mrs. Thompson; enrollment closes TODAY, February 14th at 3PM.

Seniors: If you haven’t turned in your Legal Name form to Mrs. Mendoza, please do so. These forms are due Monday, February 24th. They were emailed to parents and students, and extra copies of the form are with Mrs. Mendoza in the Counseling Office.

Attention seniors, senior merchandise is now on sale! Order Class of 2020 sweatshirts for $20 and shirts for $10. Forms can be found in the activities office and in your email. Fill out an order form and submit it in the activities office with cash or a check made out to the Class of 2020 by Thursday, February 27th. Samples can be viewed in the showcase upstairs in the A building.
Seniors if you have not ordered your cap and gown you have one last opportunity to order starting today through April 15th. Do not wait until the last minute, pick your order form today in the Activities office and must be mailed ASAP to Jostens.

Attention Seniors! We have been notified of a significant increase to our PTA scholarship fund for this school year. Four $1,000 scholarships will be awarded this year. To be eligible, each senior student MUST be a PTA member to qualify. The amount to join PTA is ONLY $10.00. Pick up a membership envelope from Dr. Fox’s office today.

As a reminder, students should NOT be in the south gym lobby, south gym or the north gym without supervision at snack or lunch. This includes locker rooms. Detentions will be given.

Another reminder: Students, if you are feeling sick during class, please ask your teacher for a pass to the nurse/attendance office. Please do not text your parents to pick you up while you are in class. The nurse or attendance clerk will contact a parent if you need to go home. Thank you!

Final Reminder: You MUST use one of the two crosswalks on Mariposa when crossing the street. If not, you may be assigned a detention and ESPD may cite you for jaywalking. Be Safe and use the crosswalk!

In College & Career News:
Students interested in biomedical science may apply now for the Lundquist Institute's Summer Fellowship Program. Deadline to apply is March 6, 2020. Students in the program will: Spend 8 weeks gaining laboratory or clinical research experience under the mentorship of The Lundquist Institute's Investigators and get paid! See Ms. Harada for more info.

Eagles just a reminder that for the lip dub today you will go to your starting positions, we will run through it once, then the second time we go all out and everyone runs to the field at the end! I can't wait to see your spirit.
