We are thrilled to share that Clara Schiff, a talented second-grader from Center Street Elementary School, has won second place in the California State PTA Reflections competition! 🏆✨
Clara’s music composition entry titled, "Being Me" was submitted under this year’s theme “Accepting Imperfection”. Her submission stood out among hundreds of submissions from students across the state. Her creativity, dedication, and artistic expression earned her this incredible achievement, bringing pride to our school and community.
The PTA Reflections program encourages students to express themselves through visual arts, literature, music composition, dance choreography, film production, and photography. Clara’s work beautifully captured the theme and impressed the judges with its originality and heartfelt message.

On Friday, February 28, we held our third Cougars CARE Assembly, focusing on the "R" in CARE—Resilience. 💛🐆
To bring resilience to life, Mrs. Karich took the stage and guided students through three real-world scenarios. In each scenario, students had to choose between two responses, determining which one best reflected a resilient mindset.
Engaging in turn-and-talk discussions, students deepened their understanding of what resilience looks like in action at CSS. Next, Mr. Kyle took the mic to recognize and celebrate students who were recommended by their classroom teachers for demonstrating resilience in their learning and daily interactions.
Their dedication and perseverance were truly inspiring!

Our next Board of Education meeting is Tuesday, March 11, starting at 6:00pm in the El Segundo City Hall Council Chamber (350 Main Street).
