English Language Development (ELD)

Richmond Street School provides English Learners (EL) with support to the core curriculum for the explicit purpose of achieving language proficiency and academic achievement. Students whose home language surveys indicate a language other than English are assessed using the English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC). Students who demonstrate emerging, expanding, or bridging English proficiency are designated English Learners (EL) and receive intervention services or progress monitoring based on their proficiency level.
