El Segundo Middle School students Owen Anderson, Braeden Corcoran, and Mason Koussa are making headlines! 📰🐟
For their 8th grade International Baccalaureate project, these students decided to focus on the critical issue of marine pollution and debris.
With mentorship from USC Dornsife, the group collected trash from local beaches, analyzed their findings, and transformed the debris into a fish sculpture that illustrates the impact of plastic waste on ocean life.

What an incredible night at last week’s ESMS Open House! 🌟 The campus came alive with families, students, and staff celebrating the hard work and growth of the school’s scholars.
The Student-Led Conferences were a special highlight! ESMS students took center stage to reflect on their learning journey and proudly share how they’re living out the Graduate Profile traits, from creative and critical thinking to confident communication.

Congratulations to ESMS student, Katarina Glisovic, for being selected as a finalist in the West Basin Municipal Water District’s “Being Water Wise Is…” Student Art Contest! 🚰🎉
Katarina was one of fifteen finalists out of 700 incredible submissions from throughout the West Basin service area. As a finalist, she received an Apple iPad, a certificate signed by a West Basin Director, and a special gift package.
We are so proud of Katarina’s creativity and dedication to promoting water conservation!
