El Segundo High School Summer Credit Recovery Sign Ups!
ESHS will host credit recovery courses via APEX this summer. Credit recovery is offered to current ESHS students who have earned a D or F in one of their core academic classes.
This three week summer program will run from
Monday, June 26th to Monday, July 17th
Monday - Thursday (8:30am - 12:30pm)
Location: ESHS and/or Virtual
Because space is limited, enrollment in the courses will be determined on a first come, first served basis, based on completion of a Google Survey form.

**CLASS of 2023** El Segundo High School awards the State Seal of Biliteracy (SSB) to 12th grade students at graduation who have demonstrated proficiency in both English and another language. Please see below for eligibility criteria. Transcripts and test scores will be verified by Mrs. Reyes, Assistant Principal, and Mrs. Mendoza, Registrar. Please complete this form that you are qualified to earn and wish to apply for a Seal of Biliteracy no later than Friday, April 28th, 2023 at 3:30pm. (https://bit.ly/eshsSealofBilteracy23) No need to turn in any paperwork. You will receive a confirmation email after Mrs. Reyes and Mrs. Mendoza review your transcripts and test scores.
Eligibility Criteria for a Student Whose Primary Language is English:
*Each of these three academic requirements shall be fulfilled.
Students must have completed all English–language arts (ELA) requirements for graduation with an overall grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or above in those classes.
Students must have passed the CAASPP/SBAC at the “Standard Met” level in the English Language Arts (ELA) set for native English speakers administered in grade eleven.
Students must demonstrate proficiency in one or more languages in addition to English, demonstrated through one of the following methods:
Pass a foreign language Advanced Placement (AP) exam, including American Sign Language, with a score of three or higher.
Pass an International Baccalaureate examination with a score of four or higher.
Successfully complete a four-year high school course of study in a foreign language and attain an overall grade point average of 3.0 or above in that course of study.
Eligibility Criteria for a Student Whose Primary Language is not English:
If the primary language of a student in grades nine to twelve, inclusive, is other than English, the student shall also meet the following two academic requirements:
Achieve Early Advanced proficiency level on the English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC), which may be administered an additional time, as necessary.
Meet the requirements above as stated in 1, 2, and 3.

Join the ESHS P.O.T.A.T.O.E.S at the Toyota Sports Performance Center on April 15th from 7:30-9:45 PM for their Ice Skating Fundraiser. This team recently placed 2nd at a VEX Regional Competition and competed at VEX States Los Angeles. Please support the club to further their future endeavors. 3:30-5pm. All new athletes wanting to try out should arrive as soon as they can after 6th period ready to swim, meaning having the appropriate gear: Suit, goggles, cap, towel, etc.. If they cannot make it to Tuesday tryouts I am offering a

Students, SoCal ROC Spring semester enrollment has begun! Earn high school elective credits while learning valuable skills that prepare you for college and/or an entry-level career! Courses are after school and FREE for high school students! We also offer FREE bus transportation to and from our center for all El Segundo students enrolled in our 1:15pm and 4:15pm classes! Your SoCal ROC career guidance specialist is available in the College & Career Center (A105) to answer any questions every Wednesday during snack and 3rd period. Add your name to the sign up sheet in the College & Career Center to meet with her ASAP!
The Eagle Academic Support Center will officially open Monday, November 28, 2022.
The EASC is offered by ESHS teachers for all ESHS students.
Students can stop in for instructional support, help organizing their school items, or a quiet place to complete work in the Library.
The EASC will be open Monday - Thursdays before and after school (7:20 - 8:20am / 3:25 - 4:30pm) in the Library.
Note: The EASC will not be available during minimum day Mondays.

The following is a message from the El Segundo High School Play Production Director:
The El Segundo High School Drama program has been hard at work for the past two months on our fall play, Puffs. We are incredibly excited for the school and community to come experience a truly funny and heart-warming show. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, we will not be able to perform the show this week during its original stated run of November 17, 18, and 19.
But… the show must go on! We are currently working with all involved parties to find the best time to remount the performances and allow everyone to enjoy the show as it was meant to be seen. As soon as new performance dates can be confirmed, we will let everyone know. If you have already purchased tickets on My School Bucks, rest assured your purchases will be honored date to date (your Thursday ticket will work for the Thursday of the new date, Friday to Friday, etc.) .
While this is disappointing in the short term, please know we are committed to putting on all four performances. They will just have to happen later than we anticipated. Thank you for your understanding and support, and have a Happy Thanksgiving.
